This place is kind of a pain to get into if you're coming from the wrong direction, but fortunately once you're inside it's a wonderful place. Every day there is a different drink special and they are all great depending on what you like. Sundays are my favorite day because it's half off select pints, which makes for a very affordable liquid lunch. The atmosphere and wait staff are always great, and you feel very comfortable once you get inside. Service does get a little slower when it's busy, but that's to be expected. I've only had the food once and it is a little pricey for what you get, but considering the value of the drinks I'm pretty satisfied with the overall pricing. Plus the food tends to be more on the quality than quantity side, so at least what you get is very good. The beer selection is what you really need to come here for though. Lots of local brews mingling with regional craft breweries, a few standbys, and some imports to keep things interesting. There is also a full bar if you don't like beer, so if you can't find anything to drink here you must not be thirsty. I really love the shark club but we visited three times before we were told about it. Seems like they should advertise it a little better, but it could just be that I missed it. All in all, Fishale is a great local hangout and I look forward to the days I get to go.

Very good overall for the food, price and dining experience. Reasonable prices, pretty good food. Lots of beer choices.

The beer menu here has no local equal. They have a great selection with 2 different levels of flights called "paddles". Lots of daily and nightly specials. The wait staff is excellent, very attentive and suggested some great items, not just what management told them to say. The food is ok... We ordered the Ahi Tuna steak- I would have this again. Expertly cooked seasoned well, the sweet chili sauce makes this tuna taste like candy. My son ordered the patty melt medium rare, it came well done. They gladly took it back and removed it from our bill. I do no think I would re-order this regardless of cooking technique, as it's scarce cheese and onions were anything but a "melt". The bread was lightly toasted as in barely. Skip it. I ordered the Grouper Tacos blackened. They were lightly seasoned and not very "blackened". The fish was...well...pretty fishy. Another skip. Especially for $15. My daughter ordered the Dorado sliders, blackened Mahi Mahi. The plate arrived with deep fried Mahi Mahi. This was quickly corrected by the wait staff. Her sliders were a bit dry and a bit bland. Another skip. Long story short, go for the excellent beer choices and grab an appetizer such as the spinach artichoke dip or the beer cheese. Selma, My wife found your restaurant on Yelp. With a few adjustments on your main entrees I think you have a gem. Keep up the good work. Scott

Best beer bar south of Atlanta! Fantastic food, really really good craft beer, and low prices. We arrived in PCB well after dinner time and we decided to check out fish ale because they were open late on a Monday. Is a good thing we did because discovering this little gem changed the course of our vacation. We ended up at fish ale every single day during our stay and took advantage of all their daily specials. As a foodie who loves to try new restaurants, this is unheard of from me. I'm torn between which is better, the beer, the food or the service. I've had good food and beer before but the service at this establishment is outstanding! Our bartender Erika and the server Lindsay were very attentive as soon as we walked in. The building is newly renovated and has a beautiful aesthetic. Erika was very knowledgeable of the 70+ beers on their menu and knew a little bit about each of the breweries. She described the flavor of some of the beers perfectly and offered us a tiny taste when we were still unsure of a new beer. On Monday they have happy hour all day which includes $5 apps. Some of these apps could be a full meal. We tried the calamari and a couple different flavors of wings (only $0.50 on Mondays). The buffalo shrimp were enormous and fresh and the burgers are cooked to order. We couldn't find a single restaurant on the beach that didn't cook their burgers well done so we came back to fish ale where they use fresh ingredients and will cook your burger any way you want.

Website advertises $1 Yuengling on Mondays, told they don't even serve Yuengling. Overcharged $20 on the invoice. Caught it, and it was corrected, but it wa sonly a table of 3 people, all on one check. How does that even happen? Server unable to explain difference between a 60 minute dogfish and the 90 minute dogfish. Not great for somewhere that calls themselves an Ale House. Train your staff. Servers are clearly hired on their looks, and not their ability or common sense. Friendly, but not very good at their jobs. Asked of we wanted our apps to come with the main course, or early. We said All together. Then we were told that's not an option. This isn't annoying, just silly - don't offer if we can't get it with the main meal (also, why not though?!) Only one POS for the servers to use, so when they all (inevitably) need to use it at the same time, it bottlenecks service everywhere. Poor planning / lack of foresight. Wings are DRY. Like, super dry. You will need lots of refills, or to produce superhuman amounts of saliva to get them down.

Great service, the beer selection was wonderful. Try the Crab Cake Tacos! It wasn't too busy when I was there, so the bartender let me try lots of samples. She was knowledgeable about the beers. Only drawback was some of the kegs were blown. But I won't take away stars for that because everything else was awesome.

Great friendly service. Ask for the blonde from Dickson, TN. Good food. Ahi was great, burgers were even better. All American burger!!!! Games outside the kids loved. Jumbo connect four. Good beer selection. You can sample before you buy.

In town on vacation and stumbled across this place... the food and service was great! My gf ordered a burger and I had the shrimp Alfredo; we've eaten out all week and this was one of the better spots we found.

Fishale in PCB is a great spot to unwind after a heavy day of beach going. The beer selection is nice and the prices are average. I had the midnight chicken with a double side of veggies. The chicken was good but nothing extraordinary and the veggies were absolutely delicious. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice.

Beer geek's dream come true. Over 60 beers on tap, often with some off-the-wall and hard to find options. When it comes to beer, everyone at the bar and on serving staff knows what they are talking about. They are on point with their suggestions. Food is standard pub fare with a coastal twist (fish tacos, fish sliders). It gets crowded so don't hit it at high times or else you will feel like a sardine. They keep their Facebook page active with all their drink specials so it's worth peeking at before arriving.

Me and wife I got surf and turf it was A- and wife got crab cake tacos.... A+++ they were awesome. Beer is totally legit. Key lime cheesecake was great too. Ask for Lauren. Great server and took care of us.

This place was just okay. They do have an impressive selection of beer, but the food wasn't anything amazing. The best part of our meal was the appetizer. We tried to order the pretzels with beer cheese, but they were out of pretzels, so we settled for the blue chips with the beer cheese. The beer cheese was very good. I had the fish and chips, which was pretty good, but it's kind of hard to mess that up. The other people in my party had the crab cake tacos and the surf and turf. The tacos were fine, but not something worth going back for. The surf and turf was a steak with three pieces of shrimp on top...not enough shrimp to justify the cost difference between the NY strip and the surf and turf. Also, the steak was clearly cooked indoors and lacked any sort of grilled or smoky flavor. Bottom line: I'd recommend this place for beer flights and appetizers, not for a meal.

I picked this restaurant mainly for the beer and was very happy with their selection. I'm a huge fan of stouts, porters and amber beers and I was happy they had a great selection. For food, we had the Buffalo Shrimp to start and those were very very good! I then shared the American Sliders and the Dorado Sliders (which are Mahi-mahi). The American Sliders were so so; maybe it was because I LOVE cheese on my burgers but my dad isn't a fan so we got them without cheese. But the Dorado Sliders were excellent, especially the spicy mayo. I also upgraded to the onion rings and those were delicious! We ate on a Tuesday around 3pm so it was pretty dead, but I loved the atmosphere and our server was so much fun. They have Happy Hour from 2-6 and they had a lot of great deals on drinks and appetizers. If you love beer and good bar food this is definitely a place to try!

One of the best places around here for a nice meal in a classy environment without spending too much. The food is good. Tons of craft beers. Good for gameday too.

  • Ryan E.

Wow. The food was just okay. Half our orders were wrong. It took forever in the first place. I ordered a very weak martini the same time my friends ordered their beers. I got my very weak martini a good 15 min before them. What?!? While asking several times for their beer they finally got it. It's a craft beer joint, but they can't pour a few beers - it wasn't busy, there were only a few tables and plenty of wait staff. It was weird. It had promise when we walked in, the bar looked cool, but we were there to mainly eat and none of it really worked out. Our food all came at different times which sucks because we all have manners and wait until everyone is served, but then half everyone's food is cold by then. Whatever, I won't be going back or recommending it.

Worst service ever. Went there for Wing night. Party of 15. Entrees came out 15 minutes apart per person. Rude management. Appetizer came out after meal Beer selection is great. I'm not a picky person, but this place was terrible, mainly due to the staff, not the food.

  • Amy B.

Uuummmm... DELISH!!! But, better yet - the service!! Liz (as noted on the receipt) was AAAAA-MAZING!!! Server was engaging and attentive to all five of us. She knew her beers and even when they were out of a beer noted on the menu, she was able, and confident, with her alternative suggestions. Liz truly made the dining experience excellent for the whole party! Can't wait to return!!!!

Amazing restaurant! Even though all of the reviews on here talk about the different kinds of beers and how nice the collection is, (it is nice, might I add) you do not have to partake in the beer experience to enjoy this restaurant. First of all, the real reason that I am giving 5 stars is because I came in with my girlfriend at 11:30 at night, expecting to grab a mediocre bite to eat after a long day. Boy, were we surprised! The food tasted like it was their peak dinner hours and very fresh. I had the meatinator and I do not get filled up easily and had quite an appetite. That burger was quite a bit to finish and I enjoyed every bite of it. My girlfriend got the grouper tacos and she said they were out of this world. The only negative I can think of is that the waiters and waitresses there seemed to be hired on their looks and not exactly their knowledge of the menu. Having said that, our waitress was extremely nice and she sat down and talked with us the whole time since it was not a busy time. Would DEFINITELY recommend.

It's a bar and restaurant with 60+ beers on tap. Appetizers were decent, service and as good and enthusiastic to introduce you to new beers. Great concept and atmosphere.

  • David E.

This place was great. The food was excellent, the service was exceptional. If they don't have a beer that you want i don't know why. The prices for what you get is exceptional also. Nothing bad to say about this place at all.

Great atmosphere with 65 beers on tap! Had the grill shrimp which was fantastic. Try with the sweet chili sauce as a dipper. My mom had a burger which is ground beef and brisket mix. She loved it! Our server Dru, aka "Ronnie" was fantastic! He's "Ronnie" due to a hilarious spontaneous moment, that had us all cracking up. He and us will never forget! LOL

AAAAMAZING!! 10 stars across the board! From food to atmosphere! Restaurant based on locals! Drunken grouper and fish and chips where off the chain! It's been a long time since we found a place that serves amazing food, good portions and mike the bartender was so much fun!

This place is amazing and a must go for any fan of beer. First off its huge and has a great feel about it. The decor is fantastic with lots of different seating options including the bar, outside patio, both High and low top tables, as well as lounge couches. They have 65 beers on tap with Low low prices. Craft beers for as low as $4 to $5 and that's not even during happy hour!!! Happy hour daily 2pm - 6pm and on Mondays 2pm till close - $1 off all drafts, 1/2 off all well drinks, $3 house wine, $5 specialty Martinis, $1 Shocktop, and all apps (except wings) for only $5. Our bartender Erika was incredible. We felt right at home hanging with her at the bar the Monday night we rolled into town. It was happy hour and 50 Cent Wings all day so we split 3 apps, 20 Wings, and a bunch of beers. The beers we had were fantastic!!! We took Erika's suggestion on her favorite wing flavor and loved them. My friend also really loved the shrimp app we got. We had such a great time that we went back the next day for Tasty Tuesday - $6 flights ( 7 - 4oz beers) and a couple of burgers which were cooked to order and really yummy. Erika introduced us to the brains behind the operation ( Selma ). It was such a pleasure meeting her and hearing all the passion in her voice about her business and the opening of there own local brewery shortly. My friend that was with me ( Liz ) runs a beer festival Meetup in Atlanta. We hope to bring a large group back to Fishale soon for the grand opening of there Brewery. So give it a try and make sure you ask for Erika or her best friend Katlin and tell them that Rob and Liz from the Atlanta Beer Festival Meetup Group sent you!!!

Great place. 4.5 stars. Highly recommend. Beer selection is awesome with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. Excellent happy hour events on brew. Had grouper fish tacos and they were very good. These were fried vs grilled- but still quite tasty. Nice atmosphere. Excellent food. Wide beer selection on tap. NGreat choice.

My wife and I had dinner at Fishale last night. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed ourselves. We started with a couple beers. The bartender Mike was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Our tuna roll appetizer was awesome . My wife had the grouper sliders, and she loved them. I had the blackened grouper tacos and thought they might be the best fish tacos I've ever had. We will definitely be making a return trip.

VERY IMPRESSSED!! I wasn't pleased with my lunch order. I felt the amount of fish was inadequate for the price I paid. I expressed my disappointment and the manager rectified the problem immediately!! They sent me home with an additional lunch .. Which was excellent !! Thank you FISH ALE!!

This is the best restaurant on the beach. The ONLY thing that would make it better would be an ocean view...that's it. It is nearly perfect in all respects. The beer choices...obviously a plus. But the food is seriously the best. Top quality everything. The burgers are outstanding, the salads are wonderful...even the plain old side salad is great. There is a hidden gem on the menu that everyone should try. They have a roasted red pepper and Gouda bisque that is crazy good. You can get it with their grilled cheese which is sooo perfect. It sounds a little goofy, but they put arugula on the grilled cheese. I know...I thought it would ruin the plain old grilled cheese, but not so. It is a great combination and the bread the use is perfect. Even the kids meals are hi quality food. The chicken strips appear to be freshly hand breaded and cooked perfectly. The fish bites are also super good and don't seem to belong on the kids menu. Also, damn near perfect chicken wings! Try them too. The one, single time we had something bad was when we got some overcooked, burnt chewy calamari. We simply told the server and we had a fresh, perfect replacement platter of calamari in minutes.

Delicious food nice ambience and tons of craft beer on tap. Fish Tales is a little ways from the sand Panama City Beach but a great place to dine with friends.

Best taproom in Panama City. The apps were fantastic and the beer selection superb. I've been there twice this week. Sunday they had food and drinks specials.

After writing a two page rant and then deleting it here is the bottom line. Long time patron. Few months ago would give 5 stars. Service has gone. Use to be sharp and all over taking care of the customers. Seems when Meka is not the manager on duty there is no one controlling the service level. Food quality and even mixed drinks seem watered down with juice or whatever.

  • Alison B.

This place has the best wings I have ever had, cooked to perfection! I had the shrimp fettuccini Alfredo and it was also very good. The waitress was not to knowledge about the variety of beers which surprised me since the variety of beer is what they market about themselves however, she did bring a bunch of samples to taste which was great. She was very friendly though! My only gripe was that the entire restaurant was very cold which made dinner a little uncomfortable, so bring a jacket. We will go back to eat here for sure.

We had the chips with blue cheese & beer cheese dip. They were delightful! I had the drunken grouper with veggies. It was a very good! My husband had the blackened mahi. He enjoyed it, but thought the portion was a little small. The service was fantastic! We will definitely be back!

  • Jeff H.

Loved this place. Service was awesome and the beers were great. We went one day and got the flatbread and bourbon molasses wings. Loved it so much we came back the next day. Also had the beer cheese with blue cheese and homemade chips. Loved the cheese, the chips were awesome although a few were chewy. Best part was that there were no spring breakers!

  • Todd W.

Severely understaffed. From the moment we were seated (next to the hostess station) we noticed the Manager kept having to prompt the staff on what to cover and their responsibilities. Ordered our food, took longer than be expected and server only made a passing comment "it'll be out in a few guys". Food came; calamari was overcooked, steak I ordered came w/ a "glaze" the steak was luke warm and the glaze was frigid I'm talking just out of the cooler and over 1/3 the steak was fat. This was supposed to a NY Strip mind you. Also the server put the food down and never came back until she brought the check. I had to flag down the Mgr, because I was not given a steak knife and they forgot one of my sides. In short, fishale might be a good pub environment, but I will never give them a second chance to earn my business. Too many restaurants in PCB area to settle for this type of service and quality of food. 2* only because my wife and middle daughters food was on par.

Worst vacation experience I've ever had!!!!!! This place does not take night time reservations. I called at 11:20 AM to make reservations for 7 PM. The lady who answered the phone took my name and telephone number and confirmed my 7 PM reservation. Our group (4 adults and 2 teenagers) arrived at 6:45 PM and found out that they do not take reservations and they would "try" to accommodate us. Night manager said he was "trying" to contact day manager to find out her side of the story but 45 min later, still no response. Said the wait would be should be 15-20 min. 45 min later night manager still did not have our table. The food smelled really good but we never got to taste it. After waiting 45 min, we gave up and left. TGI Fridays was more than welcome to accommodate our party and the food and drinks there were awesome. DO NOT eat at FishAle if you are told they have confirmed your reservation.

This was our first time at Fishale do it will not be our last. For appetizers we had Calamari which was lightly fried and tender. We also had the chip with beer cheese topped with blue cheese crumbles, which were also also great and the cheese was the best I have had. My wife for dinner had the grilled cheese with Gouda cheese and the reacted red pepper bisque. The grilled perfectly and very cheesy and the bisque was thick and hardy with chunks of Gouda through out. For dinner I had the meatonater which is a 8 oz burger topped with shaved sirloin and bacon topped the beer cheese sauce. This is one of the best burgers I have had and it was perfectly cooked to order and I upgraded to onion rings which were also great dipped into the beer cheese sauce. We will be back soon for more and I highly recommend them

Our first visit did not begin well. We walked in about 3pm on a Sunday. There were about a dozen people in the bar area. The dining area was empty except for the table of seven people who were obviously there to watch the world cup. Dressed in USA colors and ready to celebrate. GO USA! So, where did the hostess seat us in the nearly empty space? Right next to the only other occupied table in the place. Poor form. Her Taphouse Salad was served in a HOT salad bowl. Kudos for it being clean. But so hot it causes the lettuce to wilt? C'mon. This salad was nothing special. A regular garden salad. "Loaded" must have been meant in the loosest sense as in "We loaded the salad into the scalding hot bowl just before we served it to you." I ordered the Beer & Bleu Chips. The beer cheese was something akin to Velveeta watered down with beer and a some crumbled blue cheese dropped in the center. The chips themselves were very good. The cheese was very disappointing. We also ordered the Bavarian Pretzel. It's "baked to order" according to the menu. So is every microwave ready freezer pretzel I've ever taken home from Costco. And that's exactly what this was. Served with the same "beer cheese." Finally, the whole place smelled like my Aunt Edna's basement. Maybe it was the dirty mop water used on the floors. Or it could be that once a Brazilian steak house goes out of business, there is no getting that smell out of the place. Either way, it stank. I was very excited to see a "craft beer" place in PCB. It was a huge disappointment. Not worth the time or money. I almost forgot...don't order dessert. Almost $10 for a straight from the freezer piece of cheese cake. Actually, the perfect ending to this whole meal time experience.

Not s tourist trap. This had a local feel. Over 65 beers on tap. The molasses wings are a must. Good artichoke dip. Happy hour all day Monday!!!!

Fantastic food and a great beer list. I had the roasted red pepper bisque, which was phenomenal, and the black and blue burger. My only complaint was the burger was a touch over done, still fantastic though. The ambiance and service are both top notch. Reagin was a fantastic server, quick with great recommendations and top of her game with checking in on us. 10/10 would recommend this to everyone.

Mediocre food but great beer list and chill atmosphere. The service was good as well. Good place to have a drink and maybe some light bar food, but their food is slightly over priced for the quality and pretty bland. The burger patty was similar to something you would get from mcdonalds and my chicken on my salad was not worth the $4 extra and it was super salty

I love this place! They have an amazing beer selection and great food! We love that FishAle always has something going on. Monday they have happy hour from 2 to close and a wing special starting at 6. Thursday is another favorite with "Thurstini" featuring half price martinis! It's also a good place to watch sports. The service has always been good whether we're at a table or sitting at the bar.

Definitely the most beers on tap in Panama city, and good beer at that. Food is pretty Damn good and I like their promotions

  • Mike W.

Fantastic. Great selection of beers on tap- I could more than 60 while sitting at the bar. Perhaps best of all, no crap on tap. Try the Creme Brule from Southern Tier if they have it- very good. Very impressed that the main focus is American craft beers as opposed to a ton of mad produced international beers. Bartender was very knowledgable about the beers on tap an the history of the establishment. Wish this place existed 7 years ago when I lived in Panama City- now I live in NYC where the same beers are easily $2 more per pint.

Live down the road from this place and it is our hot spot! Cold beer! Great food! Their plates are like eating mommas food at home! I had their shrimp plate! Now their appetizers are the best! Tuna rolls are insane! Yuenglimg draft for a dollar! Happy Hour is the best!

    (5)
  • John T.

Beer selection was good and was really the only thing that was impressive. My girlfriend had a martini however it really should have been called a margarita because it clearly had tequila in it not vodka! Had the tuna spring roll for app and it was canned tuna, was expecting real tuna. also had the calamari and the best part about that was the fried peppers in it. My girlfriend had the grilled cheese and red pepper bisque for dinner. Grilled cheese was not memorable and half of it lacked any stuffing at all. The bisque was decent though. I had the meatonater and it lacked flavor and was over cooked! Our server was very nice and was very attentive to our needs so kudos to her! Needless to say we probably will not visit here again.

I cannot get enough of this place. So. Much. Beer. This is really one of the only places you can go to get such a large selection of good craft beer (they have wine and liquor too for those of you who are anti-hops). And the food is pretty good! The crab cake tacos are delicious and the Bavarian pretzel is warm and fresh. And on Wednesdays at 6pm, if you order one of their featured beers, you get a free glass!!!

Everyone in our group liked the food and we were here on a Tuesday night so it was beer sampling night 7 / 4 Oz tastings for 6 bucks. It wasn't crowded which was nice not a bad little spot a little away from main strip but glad we found it

Not sure if people were drunk before they ate here but our party of four didn't have one item that was even remotely good. The beer selection was great and our service was great but the food was unremarkable. Perhaps it was a bad night.

Been here before when pretty new. Brought hubby here for fish fry but he ordered the crab cake tacos. I like the fact you can order a beer flight or paddle as they call it so you can sample diff beers They now have 60 on tap. We sat in the high top bar area. Service was quick. The tacos were spicy and yummy. The beer battered cod filets even better. We found these dishes to be reasonably priced but many of the entrees are priced a bit high. As a local and someone who loves to cook I really limit my restaurant expenses. This is definitely a place I will come back to though for that Friday nite fish fry!

Fishale's - a 1-year old taphouse that is still trying to find its feet. I see great potential here. They offer good food and an impressive selection of beer, and with a little more focus on service and a tightening up of the menu, this place can be spectacular. Each time I have visited Fishale's, I was served by a waiter or waitress on their first day on the job. I do wonder what is causing such a turn-around with their staff - perhaps it's a consequence of operating in a tourist location where the number of guests fluctuate by season? I don't know, but this place needs better stability. I will give credit to the manager (owner?), he has stopped by our table on each of our visits to check on us. Anyways, the food! On each of our visits we've eaten different menu items. I can summarize it thusly - the beer-cheese is a must, whether with a large pretzel, as a dip for your french fries or on a burger. If you can afford to spend a little bit more and your appetite can handle it, the Meatanator (an 8 oz burger with shaved sirloin, bacon, and beer-cheese) is impressive. As I alluded to earlier, the menu needs to get tightened up a bit. I mean, it offers wings, burgers, steaks, pastas, flatbreads, seafood, sausages, wraps, sandwiches, tacos, po' boys, soups, salads, hummus, etc. - I understand the desire to give a variety of options to appease everyone's palate, but there is a lack of focus here like too many hands in the pot. All in all though, Fishale's is a good place to enjoy a couple of quality beers. The atmosphere is very clean yet warm and welcoming. I give Fishale's 3-stars for "A-OK", but let me tell you this is a very strong 3-stars - it is very close to achieving a 4-star rating in my book.

In town for a few days for work... needed a beer and something for dinner and decided to stop in here. At first I was annoyed because the place was kinda dead, yet it still took a while for someone to even approach me. But the beer was awesome, and the chicken flatbread was beyond delicious!!

I was excited to see a place in PCB offering a big craft beer selection. The interior decor is nice for what seems to be an old steakhouse on the outside. So far, so good. 60+ craft beers on tap. Many of them are not available in full pint pours. The food was a disappointment. Fish & chips were ok, nothing special. The wife's steak came out way overcooked - white. Might be an ok place to meet up with friends at the bar for the beer selection, but not sure the food is worth it.

DON'T BELIEVE THE POSITIVE REVIEWS! WE found Fishale on Yelp, & thought we would try it b/c we like microbrew beers. We ordered the Tuna Spring Rolls, which were suppose to be smoked tuna but appeared to be canned tuna. I had one bite & sat it down. My husband was starving, so he ate the appetizer even though it was not what we expected. For our entrees, we both had the drunken grouper (based on the previous reviews I thought it was going to be amazing)! The drunken grouper was $25 a plate, but in reality it was a $10 meal if that. You could get a better piece of fish at a fast food restaurant! The sauce was lacking, the fish was dry, & the sides were fair. We told our server we were disappointed & the manager came over. She assured us the tuna was smoked, "it is a process to make those tuna rolls"...well, you're process isn't working. In the end, they took 20% off our bill. We visit PCB several times a year, & have our favorite restaurants (J Michael's, Pompano's, Saltwater Grill, Jasmine, Captain Anderson's, & the former Boatyard). We dined at J Michael's last nite & our total bill was $51 without alcohol, & it was 100 times better. Tonight our bill was $68. We noticed 3 out of 12 bar tables were occupied, and 7 out of 16 on the restaurant side. That should speak volumes. I asked how long they had been open, & was surprised to hear 3 years. I imagine the beer taps keep their business going, along w/ tourist, like us, that read bogus reviews & decide to try a different place. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I would NEVER go back. Nikki, our waitress, was friendly & tried to make our dining experience positive, but quite frankly, Fishale should close it's doors.

The service has been outstanding, and our waitress Kaitlyn had a larger breath or knowledge in regard to beer and it's paring than any other I have seen before. The beer cheese is par heroine, and is used in a copious amount of menu item....

First time eating at this awesome restaurant and I must say it was fabulous! The blackened Mahi-Mahi was delicious and the Tres Leches cake was amazing. Reagan was our server and she did an incredible job with menu selections and service. One of the best kept secrets in Panama City. We will def be back!

Beer, Beer and more Beer! 60 Kegs on tap with everything from the Bud light to Sweet Water even Local brew Pensacola bay Brewery beers! Beer tasting on Tuesdays for $6 at 6 pm. (Tasty Tuesday) and live music! I've heard a lot of people bashing the food here but depending on what you get its not that bad. The Crab Cake Tacos are pretty amazing and the Mushroom Swiss burger is right on point! The chips i didn't care for and I've also had some of the dips that went very impressive either. I know the bar area is pretty big and the bartenders serve all the beer for the entire restaurant but they really need a third person behind the bar or someone thats dedicated to serving just the bar customers. If I'm stopping here after a long day of work I want to take a load off and enjoy a nice cold beer without running dry or having to try and flag someone down for service, and if its not to much to ask someone that has time to acknowledge that Im there, maybe even tell me a joke!!! Other than that Im glad this place is here and I hope that they do well. I will continue to come here simply for the Beer selection and Burgers!

Phenomenal beer selection. Staff could use some work serving high volume. The bartender did mess up out tab and over-charge us but like said, he was pretty busy and didn't hesitate to make the correction. Haven't had a good food experience there but I hear Monday is a good day to go in for beer & app deals

This place was a great experience if you want to get away from the " tourist trap" places to eat/drink in PCB . Although we only had drinks they were awesome! Wish we would've eaten there instead of where we did! The food we saw passing by looked really good. Service was friendly and knowledgeable about the 60 craft beers on tap as well as their other drinks. We will definitely be back next time in PCB!!

One of our favorite places to eat in pcb. The craft beer selection is awesome. I always get the midnight chicken and it is fantastic! Hubby gets the drunken grouper every time and raves about it. We take all our family here when they come to visit and have never had a problem. Always great, friendly service, delicious food (and beer!) and kid friendly!

Must get the tuna spring rolls! I was pleasently suprised by this place! The food was awesome, good service, good atmosphere. It's a little out of the way if you are just visiting, but we were getting a flat tire fixed and it was right down the street and the reccomended we check it out, and im so glad we did! Will def be goin back!

Ok...where do I begin! We came to Panama for a winter getaway and boy it was super quiet this time of year! We decided to get out for drinks and after riding through the highly overrated restaurants at Pier Park we googled other restaurants and found this place. The restaurant is very nice, from the black and white couches and chairs as you walk in, to the fireplace and casual seating area on the right side. We decided to sit at the bar because my guy loves to drink beer and they had what appeared to be hundreds of beer on tap (really more like 60). Our bartender was Mike and he was THE BEST BARTENDER EVER!!!!! I think my guy had one of every IPA's they had and Mike made me this blue drink....I forgot what it was called and I fell in love! It was Monday so wings were .50 each and they were the best wings that I have had in quite some time. The atmosphere at this place was really laid back and inviting. When I return to Panama City, I will definitely be back at this restaurant. I wish we would have found it sooner because I could have came here every night of my stay. Keep up the good work and MIKE ROCKS!!!!

Great addition to PCB. The food was very good, I had the Tuna BLT and wife had the Grouper Sliders and we started with an order of buffalo shrimp. They offer Beer paddles (flights) so you can try a good sampling of the 60+ offerings. My only complaints, thus the one star deduction was a set game schedule for the TV's, which means if your stuck near the bum game your stuck watching that blowout, and I wish that they would get a bit more daring in the beer selections. Overall awesome place, I will be back soon.

Awesome vibe and brews. The food took a backseat to the draft beers and laid back ambiance this place has to offer. Server was patient and knowledgeable of beer selections. Live music on the Friday my wife and I went.

Only used yelp to find places to eat in my current destination, I travel a lot for work. However I finally created an account just to tell you how great the service and food at Fishtales was. Regain was my server and she is wonderful! She let me let me know about all the specials and keyed me in on the good deals. Would definitely recommend this place as a must visit when in PCB.

My group came during Happy Hour and had the calamari and fried tuna rolls. Both were decent. It was really nothing spectacular. Inside it was nice and cozy. Typical restaurant/bar scene. Tvs around the restaurant, but most of them were pretty small so it wasn't ideal. All in all a good experience.

Stopped in for a few drinks on our way around town. The service was pretty poor at first but they seemed to make up for it a bit. The menu looked good and we may be back to try but if you are in the mood for beers then this is the place to go. Something like 65 beers on tap. I got a "paddle" as they call it where you pick out 5 different beer flights to taste.

    (3)
  • Scott R.

Great beer selection! 65 on tap! Tried the beer sampler special with 7 different types and had some awesome chili lime wings. Upscale bar food (burgers, pasta, wings) that the kids wolfed down and good looking desserts that I didn't get to try because the kids devoured the strawberry shortcake! T-shirt says it all....BEER SNOB!

great food and beer selection. so many choices for the beers. the staff was well versed in being able to describe them and as usual you get to taste them to see if you like them. Great burgers and flat breads. My favorite was the tomato and smoked gouda soup. outstanding!

Upscal atmosphere. Plenty of beer choices but the waitresses need to have more knowledge of what's offered and the style of beers. Decent prices. Great food. Management very handy and knowledgeable on products. Must visit again!

Pretty good food. I had the bourbon molasses wings, and since it was Monday they were only 50 cents. Thats what I call an easy decision. The Greek salad was very good as well. The barvarian soft pretzel was tasty but it was just your ordinary super pretzel, save your $5 there. I had a Pensacola ale beer that was very smooth and tasty.

Great Place, Great staff, Great Beer Selection, Great Food....What more can I say? I LOVE FISHALE!!! Join the beer snob club and every 10th beer is free!! Make it all the way to Shark and you drink 20oz beers from there on out! What more could you want?

  • Jay H.

This was my second time stopping by Fishale during my visit to PCB. The food is outstanding with excellent customer service. It's a little on the pricey side but I didn't complain too much because at least the quality was good. I' m not a fan of the layout for Fishale. It needs to be opened up and it's too difficult to see multiple games with different structures of the place blocking your view. Last, wide variety of beers to meet any taste bud. I will continue to visit this spot but not as a sports bar.

Great atmosphere, great service and the food... REALLY good. We had a group of 10 on a Sunday night. There was no wait for a table and the food and drinks arrived very promptly. Everyone ate more than they meant to, but the food was so good we couldn't leave any leftovers. We found this place through Yelp at the last minute. Thanks.

The only gastro-pub in the area hits a home run with its 65 types if beer and good food. The bourbon molasses chicken wings were the beginning of a great meal followed by the seadog sliders. Our wait staff was very helpful in providing help pairing beers and giving advice on the menu. Would come here again.

Worth checking out. I had the surf and turf dinner. The battered fried shrimp were excellent, with a nice texture and a cajun kick. My friend's burger looked just OK. They have a vast beer selection, and our bartender was really nice.

Made it to the New Fishale Tap house, was drawn here by tales of great ale and cold beer. I ordered the fish and chips basket, bummed it wasn't an entree but glad after I sampled what was brought to me. The fish was talapia. It was not beer battered as advertised but was a spicy cracker breading. The "chips" were bland. My guest had the lump crab cake entree, not a single lump was found in either of the greasy overly breaded cakes, at least the ale was cold. Might be good for a burger and a pint but, with a name like Fishale, I would have liked to see more fish dishes on the menu, considering how many other seafood restaurants are on the beach.

What can you say about a place that has 60 beers on tap? The beer selection is great and the food is good. The bartenders are attentive and ready to let you taste the beer before you order it. I love Andy Gator and this is one of the few local places that has Andy Gator. Fishale is a great place to go after a long week to enjoy the great selection of beers.

  • Julie W.

Service was great. Drunken grouper sauce was delicious but the fish itself was not the freshest compared to places I've been on the gulf coast. For the price, not worth it. Calamari was over-battered. Mahi mahi was average. Overall, just average and not worth the price they charge for the food.

    (3)
  • Jay G.

FABULOUS beer selection. Beer is served nice and cold, unlike some craft beer establishments who prefer to serve it a bit warmer. Great wings. The staff are some of the coolest people on the beach. One of my favorite places.

They are still working out the kinks and finding themselves, but I feel very good about Fishale's long term prospects and will definitely be returning. Fishale's chief selling point and main attraction is the vast array of beers on tap that they offer. During my visit I was told they had around 40 beers on tap with space and plans for around 60 beers when all is said and done. Beer selection ranges from basic domestic selections like Budweiser (available in bottles) up to many craft and microbrew selections. The beer I had was perfectly served and tasty. The beer menu was nicely divided between styles and succeeded in making me want to come back and try some of the others. Beer prices are what you would expect for microbrews, let's say, as a baseline, about $4-5 a pint. The restaurant's decor is simply awesome. I really love the vibe at Fishale. For dinner the lights are dimmed and contemporary music is piped at an appropriate volume (not too loud) over the speakers. The dining room is wide open and modern, and there is a fireplace with a sofa and some chairs situated at one end of the room. There is also a traditional bar area, and in addition to beer Fishale appears to have a decent selection of wines and liquors. The majority of the menu items were basic pub foods (beer pretzels, hot wings, philly cheese steaks, and poboys) with a few higher end seafood items and meat dishes thrown in. I feel like the menu lacks focus, and, as others have said, probably needs more seafood items given the restaurant's name and location. We had the beer pretzel for an appetizer, which was served piping hot and tasty, with a side of cheese. It was great for pub fare, but not really much different from the pretzels you can get at your local snack bar. For my entree I ordered the fish and chips, which was one of the few seafood-themed dishes on the menu and also one of the most affordable entrees. I really enjoyed the fish. I'm not sure if it was locally caught or not, but it was nicely breaded, tender, and much better than fish and chips I've had elsewhere in Bay County. The fries were decent, but nothing really impressive or memorable. I really want to see Fishale prosper, because its the sort of place I'd like to take a group of friends on a Friday night for some decent food and great beer choices.

I stopped by with friends on the opening weekend to check this place out. I was excited about the large beer selection and I was not disappointed. Lots of great beers here, and the prices are on par with what you would expect to pay for craft beer. The waitress was a bit chatty, but that really didn't bother me since I knew she just had opening jitters and was excited about working there. Service was decent overall. I was not impressed with the food. I got a cheese steak and it was decent, but it seemed like there was way more bread than meat and veggies. My wife's seared tuna sandwich was on the dry side, admittedly because she didn't want the wasabi mayo, but it also suffered from the over sized bun syndrome. The other member of our party got the fish and chips and said it was decent, but nothing to write home about. Overall, I had a good time: The beer was great, service was ok, and the food was a bit lacking. I guess in my mind the beer made up for the other shortcomings. Can you tell I enjoy beer? With a few menu tweaks this place could be awesome. Bottom line: If you like craft beers on draft then this is the place to be in PCB.

If you are more interested in beer or lunch, this is the place for you. Dinner menu is a little lacking and the service wasn't bad, but there were some faux pas'. The problem with dinner is the menus is a little lacking especially when compared to the sandwich menu. Also if you go with the grouper prepare to be tasting nothing but sauce. Don't get me wrong, the sauce is really good, but there was just too much of it and we couldn't taste the fish. Also, the fish wasn't fresh or not cooked properly as it didn't flake and was quite rubbery. The steaks and other seafood were prepared perfectly, and had good flavor. We ordered the calamari and spinach artichoke dip for appetizers as they had a $5 appetizer happy hour special. I really hope that was a $5 special portion for the calamari as it was on the smallish side. The spinach artichoke dip was awesome. They offer pita bread or chips with the dip. What they don't tell you is that they are potato chips not tortilla chips. This is the only time I have ever seen this combo and it isn't very good. Ended up eating the dip with a fork and the chips separate. We would have ordered the pita had we known. The service was ok, but the problem is we felt really rushed. Dinner order is simple: drinks, appetizers, salads, main course, desert. We got drinks, then salad, then appetizers while still eating salad, and then main course. When the main course came, we weren't even done with the appetizers and the last bite of salad had just been eaten. We still had some chips left and I had to just scoop them out as the server that bused the food to our table went to take the plate away. The sad part is, the restaurant wasn't even 1/2 full so there was no reason for the rush. Overall, it wasn't the worst experience I've had at a restaurant, but not the best either. The question that is always asked is would you come back (the make or break for any restaurant)? Maybe.

Our new tap.house is a much welcome and much needed addition to Panama City Beach. I made it my business to be their very first customer, and what a good customer I am! The beer selection is outstanding and will continue to grow. The food is very, very good. Service: excellent - the best service on the beach!!!! The inside is very comfortable - perfect for friends to meet and to meet new friends . This is one place you do not want to miss when you come to PCB. For the locals - this is the place to go for good beer and good, reasonably priced, quality food.

Excellent atmosphere/vibe - cool lighting, decor and seating options. Great selection of craft beers on tap - I tried a couple of samples and then the bartender gave me a couple of additional recommendations based on what I liked That would have been enough but the food was good too. Best was the homemade potato chips with beer & blue cheese dip. Sandwiches, fries and onion rings were all good. I'll definitely be back.

We have been in PCB for a few months now and have passed by this place many times...The over 60 beers on tap is very appealing, so we finally made it to Fishale to try it out. We had a group of 6. For starters the server was very nice and got our order correct, she had difficulty getting a keg changed so we had to wait for ever for a beer, she asked if we wanted something different so we said sure but then finally someone changed it as she was going to get us something different. The tuna spring rolls and pretzel was very good for starters as well. Good thing you cant really mess up beer, right! Our actual food was a WHOLE different story!!! I ordered the black and blue burger and I asked for medium but they cant do that because once they patty the burgers out, they then freeze them. The server said it had to be medium well due to the fact it was not safe to thaw it out and cook it medium. If I wanted a frozen burger I'd go to McDonald's. Then my burger was charred, it tasted like the grill. Also the tomato was rotten on the burger. So new tomato and a little buffalo sauce to mask the charred taste, two bites and I could not eat anymore! Gross! I opted for veggies and not french fries and they tasted like green beans dipped in butter. Needless to say I left hungry! My husband had the grouper sliders and he only ate 1 out of 3. Our friend had the chicken alfredo and it was very bland with not much tasted. Another guy had the surf n' surf and asked for the steak to be medium, well done is how it came out. SO then the manager came over to ask how the food was, I told him about the burger that I did not eat and to be "kind" he took $4 off a $10.95 not eaten burger. I also forgot to mention that it took 20 minutes to get our first beer (not the beer waiting for the keg to be changed, that was beer #2) because they had a party of 60 and the bar was backed up...I understand being busy, but if you can't handle a party and a restaurant full of people, please pick one! Sorry for the rant but we will only go back here for the beer and not the food! Good Luck!

We stumbled on this place on a Saturday night and sat at the bar. They have a good happy hour - $1 domestic drafts (Bud Light, Miller Lite, Yeungling) and I think she said all apps were $5. Other beers might have been $1 off? I got the chicken alfredo, which was decently flavored, although with too much sauce. The little garlic breads were good and the side salad (extra $$) was fresh. My boyfriend had the "Towering Burger", which wasn't towering at all, and he said it was the worst burger he'd ever had. It definitely looked like it came from a box - it didn't look very appetizing at all. A friend had the Ahi Tuna, and the Hummus appetizer. The app comes with homemade potato chips, which were fantastic. Great selection of beers, and the bar staff were very knowledgeable about them, but a bit of a mixed bag on the food.

  • Rn R.

Not really thrilled with this place. Stopped in to check it out, had the $1 Yuengling to see how the service bar was before I checked out their beer list. 1st -my beer came in a 12 oz glass-not a pint, as stated on their website. 2nd -most beers over 6.5% abv are in a 9 oz glass but charged as if it were a full size glass. (it could be some local law-I do not know) Where I come from all beer comes in a pint glass except beer that is between 9%-12% abv. If you do the math on the 9oz beer you wind up paying what would be the equivalent $9-$10 a beer. Seems quite high to me. Other wise place was clean and the staff was friendly--probably will not go back

Excellent selection of craft beer taps. It stands out at PCB which is over run with bars serving Bud Light and Coors light. For anyone serious about beer, Fishale Taphouse is the place to be.

I echo what several reviews stated about this place working out some of the kinks. Our server was really pleasant and put forth a great deal of effort. She didn't know very much about beer, which was fine, because she admitted it upfront. My husband declined the starch option and requested just a salad and vegetable. We paid the extra $2.50 for the salad, but still paid full price for the entree even though he passed on the potatoes or rice. His salad (or our friend's soup) didn't arrive before the entrees. Rather, we had to ask for it after the main dishes were dropped off. The server gave a sincere apology and given her overall attentiveness, we were willing to let it go. I had the drunken grouper which was tasty and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was super mellow; there was live music that served as a great background. I look forward to returning soon and trying some other things on the menu. We plan on sitting at the bar next time which looked really comfortable and inviting.

Don't drive by!!! On the outside this looks like an old Ryan's, but inside it is upscale and classy. The wait staff is personable and the food is great. It's obvious the owners care and they've provided atmosphere to go along with your meal. Whether for a meal or the bar, you won't be disappointed.

Normally a 3 star visit, however I can see they are making an effort to move in the right direction based on other reviews and they have an amazing beer selection. Service was friendly, restaurant was clean (including bathrooms), Live music was really good. I ordered house made chips and queso which were really good and the Tuna for entree which was also good. look forward to visiting again to sample more beers and food.

Went for lunch this afternoon. food was good, but service was not. Our waitress was extremely rude and could not make any recommendations when we asked her about drinks and burgers. Ordered an appletini (which is on the menu) and was told it couldnt be made because they didnt have apple pucker. wouldnt you keep something like that in stock seeing that its an item on your menu? Went the entire meal with one napkin - my husbands pet peeve.. especially while eating a big messy burger!

This place has an excellent beer selection and the food we ordered was all delicious as well! I recommend the crab cake tacos as an entree. There are 65 beers on tap, and there's the option to get a small sample of 4 beers for 8.50 or 10.50, depending on the gravity reading. This is my first time in Panama City Beach, but if I'm down here again I will definitely be making the trip to Fishale again! Mike the bartender was very nice and knowledgeable about all the beers, making good suggestions for both my boyfriend and myself. There's a very diverse selection of styles of beers, as well as about ten high gravity beers.

Disreputable business. Purchase a Restaurant.com certificate for this establishment. Certificate had no expiration date however the restaurant REFUSED to honor the certificate, telling me to go back to Restaurant.com to get my money back!!! REALLY!!! There poor judgment not to honor a certificate they contracted with a company to offer for them is simply BAD BUSINESS.

amazing food and great service! try the beer & blue chips, calamari as appetizers and the drunken grouper for your meal--- you will not be disappointed! fyi amazing french fries too! there are flat screen tvs all around as well as over 60 beers on tap so if you don't know what you want or want to try something different, you can get a sample to decide. the staff was extremely nice and helpful. definitely try this hidden gem near the halfway bridge into panama city.
